The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the Mahamastakabhisheka Mahotsav 2018 of Gommateshwara Bhagwan Sri Bahubali Swami at Shravanabelagola today Speaking on the occasion, the President conveyed his best wishes to organisers and pilgrims gathered there for the successful conduct of Mahamastakabhisheka Mahotsav 2018. He said Samyak Darshan, Samyak Gyan and Samyak Charitra are known as the three gems of Jain philosophy. These are relevant for the entire world. The path of universal welfare can be paved by peace, non-violence, fraternity, morality and sacrifice. The President noted that a large number of devotees from various parts of our country as well as from across the world have come to Shravanabelagola to pray for world peace. This is inspiring for all of us. He wished all devotees every success in their welfare efforts.

#आचार्यश्री विद्यासागरजी महाराज ने कहा कि मोक्षमार्ग पर चलना आसान हो सकता है परंतु संभलना भी जरूरी होता है। जब इस मार्ग पर चलने में पसीना बहता है तो पोंछने के लिए तौलिया भी उपलब्ध नहीं होती है। जब हम संभल संभल कर मोक्ष मार्ग की तरफ बढ़ते हैं तो सम्यक ज्ञान की प्राप्ति संभव हो जाती है उन्होंने कहा कि हम जब पानी बाले नारियल को बजाते हैं तो उसमें से पानी की आवाज आती है और सूखे नारियल (खोपरा) को बजाते हैं तो उसमें से गोले की आवाज आती है, जो बनने की प्रक्रिया में होता है। ऐंसे ही हमारे भावों में जो गीलापन है उसे खोपरे की तरह सुखा बनाने के लिए अपनी खोपड़ी में से संसार की माया को विलुप्त करना पड़ेगा और इसके लिए पुरुषार्थ करना आवश्यक है। #AcharyaVidyasagar #Jainism #Digambara

बाहुबली प्रथम तीर्थंकर ऋषभदेव के पुत्र थे। अपने बड़े भाई भरत चक्रवर्ती से युद्ध के बाद वह मुनि बन गए। उन्होंने एक वर्ष तक कायोत्सर्ग मुद्रा में ध्यान किया। जिसके पश्चात् उन्हें केवल ज्ञान की प्राप्ति हुई और वह केवली कहलाए। बाहुबली को गोम्मटेश भी कहा जाता है, जो गोम्मतेश्वर मूर्ति के कारण पड़ा। यह मूर्ति 57 फीट की है। यह मूर्ति श्रवणबेलगोला, कर्नाटक, भारत में स्थित है। इस मूर्ति का निर्माण चामुण्डराय ने करवाया है चामुण्डराय का घर का नाम ‘गोम्मट’ था। उनके इस नाम के कारण ही उनके द्वारा स्थापित बाहुबली मूर्ति का गोम्मटेश्वर नाम पड़ा है अर्थात् गोम्मटेश्वर का अभिप्राय है चामुण्डराय के देवता । इसी कारण इस विंध्यगिरि को भी ‘गोम्मट’ कहते हैं। इसी गोम्मट उपनामधारी चामुण्डराय के लिये श्री नेमिचन्द्राचार्य ने अपने रचित जीवकांड, कर्मकाण्ड ग्रंथों को भी ‘गोम्मटसार’ नाम दे दिया है। गोम्मटेश्वर भगवान् का अभिषेक प्रत्येक 12 वर्ष के अंतराल से होता हैं जो इस बार 17th to 25th February 2018 में होने जा रहा हैं 🙂 #BhagwanBahubali #Shravanbelgola
A festival which is held once every 12 years in the town of Shravanabelagola in Karnataka and the last was held in 2006. The 57 feet monolithic statue of Lord Bahubali is bathed and anointed by his Holiness under the leadership of Swasti Sri Charukeerthi Bhattarakha Swamiji of Shravanabelagola. The next Mahamastakabhisheka will take place between 17th to 25th February 2018 #Gomtheswar
