One of the fourteen ratnas (precious and unique animate and inanimate objects) of the Cakravarti (universal sovereign);
the cudgel (daṇḍa) of the Cakravarti, which possesses superhuman powersit is capable of destroying the whole army of the enemy, it is divine (superhuman) and invincible; it can fulfil the task of levelling the uneven plot of land wherein the army of the Cakravarti can be camped; and can fulfil all the desires of its beholder. It can penetrate in the earth up to one thousand Yojanas (1Yojana=7.88 kilometers).
daṇḍaratnaṃ ratnamayapancalatākaṃ vajrasāramayaṃ sarvaśatrnsainyavināśakārakaṃ, cakravartinaḥ skandhāvāraṃ visamonnatavibliāgeṣu samatvakāri śāntikaraṃ cakravartino hitepsitamanorathapūrakaṃ divyamapratihataṃ prayatnaviśesatasca vyāpāryamāṇaṃ yojanasahasramapyadhaḥ praviśati.
