दार्शनिक जगत में अनेक सिद्धांत होते हैं। उसी प्रकार जन्म-मृत्यु के संबंध में भी दार्शनिक जगत में दो सिद्धांत प्रसिद्ध हैं-पहला आस्तिक और दूसरा नास्तिक। आस्तिक अवधारणा यह मानती है कि इस जगत में आत्मा का अस्तित्व है। इस विचारधारा के लोगों के अनुसार इस संसार में जो आत्मा है, एक अवस्था के बाद एक शरीर को छोड़ दूसरे शरीर धारण कर लेती है अर्थात् आत्मा के एक ऐसा स्थाई तत्त्व है जो कभी मिटती नहीं और हमेशा किसी न किसी रूप में उपस्थित रहती है। वह आगे से आगे जाने वाली होती है। इस कारण आत्मा का पुनर्जन्म होता है। आत्मा को न छेदा जा सकता है, न काटा जा सकता है, न जलाया जा सकता है, न गीला किया जा सकता है और नहीं सुखाया जाता है। वह सदैव रहने वाली है। आदमी का यह शरीर विनाशधर्मा है। जिस प्रकार आदमी पुराने जीर्ण-शीर्ण वस्त्रों का परित्याग कर नए कपड़े धारण कर लेता है उसी प्रकार आत्मा भी पुराने जीर्ण-शीर्ण शरीर का त्याग कर नया शरीर धारण कर लेती है।
इसलिए आदमी को अगली गति को अच्छा बनाने के लिए इस जीवन को अच्छा बनाने का प्रयास करना चाहिए। धार्मिक-आध्यात्मिक कार्य के द्वारा अपनी आत्मा को निर्मल बनाने का प्रयास करना चाहिए ताकि आत्मा मोक्ष को प्राप्त कर सके। उक्त संदेश जनता के लिए जननायक, अहिंसा यात्रा के प्रणेता, महातपस्वी आचार्यश्री महाश्रमणजी ने ढेकानल जिले के सातमाइल स्थित जनता कालेज से प्रदान किया।
अपनी धवल सेना व अहिंसा यात्रा का कुशल नेतृत्व करते हुए जैन श्वेताम्बर तेरापंथ धर्मसंघ के एकादशमाधिशास्ता आचार्यश्री महाश्रमणजी पूर्वी ओड़िशा से पश्चिम ओड़िशा की ओर गतिमान हैं। अपनी जन कल्याणकारी अहिंसा यात्रा के साथ गुरुवार को महातपस्वी आचार्यश्री महाश्रमणजी गंडानाली से प्रातः की मंगल बेला में प्रस्थान किया तथा लगभग तेरह किलोमीटर का विहार कर ढेकानल जिले के सातमाइल स्थित जनता कालेज में पधारे। जहां स्कूली छात्रों व शिक्षकों ने आचार्यश्री का भावभीना स्वागत किया।
आचार्यश्री ने कालेज परिसर में उपस्थित विद्यार्थियों, शिक्षकों व ग्रामीण जनता को पावन प्रेरणा प्रदान करते हुए कहा कि आदमी की आत्मा कर्मों के आधार पर नरक, तिर्यंच, मनुष्य और देवगति में भ्रमण करती है। तपस्या, साधना के द्वारा अपने कर्मों का क्षय कर जो आदमी अपनी आत्मा को निर्मल बनाता है, वह जन्म-मरण के चक्र से मुक्त होकर मोक्ष प्राप्त कर सकता है अथवा उसकी गति भी अच्छी हो सकती है। आदमी को अपने भीतर छिपे क्रोध, मान, माया व लोभ आदि जैसे कषायों से मुक्त होने का प्रयास करना चाहिए ताकि आत्मा निर्मल बन सके और आदमी की आगे की गति अच्छी हो सके।
आदमी को नास्तिक विचारधारा पर नहीं चलने का प्रयास करना चाहिए। आदमी को धर्म की शरण में जाना चाहिए, ताकि उसकी आत्मा का कल्याण हो सके। किसका जीवन कब समाप्त हो जाए कहा नहीं जा सकता है। आदमी को अपनी विचारधारा को भौतिकतावादी नहीं बल्कि आध्यात्मिकतावादी बनाने का प्रयास करना चाहिए और अपनी आत्मा का कल्याण करने का प्रयास करना चाहिए।
अपने मंगल प्रवचन के उपरान्त आचार्यश्री ने उपस्थित विद्यार्थियों, शिक्षकों व ग्रामीणों को जैन धर्म, साधुचर्या की संक्षिप्त जानकारी के साथ अहिंसा यात्रा की अवगति प्रदान कर अहिंसा यात्रा के संकल्पत्रयी को स्वीकार करने का आह्वान किया तो उपस्थित समस्त जनता ने अहिंसा यात्रा के तीनों संकल्पों को स्वीकार किया। अपने कालेज में आचार्यश्री के आगमन से हर्षित कालेज के प्रिन्सिपल डाॅक्टर प्रमोद मिश्र ने अपने हृदयोद्गार व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि आज हमारा कालेज आपके चरणरज से पावन हो गया। आप जिस सत्य, अहिंसा व मैत्री की भावना के साथ संपूर्ण भारत में ज्ञान बांट रहे हैं, मैं उससे अभिभूत हूं। आपकी यह प्रेरणा जन-जन में बदलाव लाएगी। आप एक महान संत हैं जो देश के कल्याण के लिए इतनी विशाल पदयात्रा कर रहे हैं। मैं आपकी यात्रा की मंगलकामना करता हूं।
