The festival of Maun Ekadashi (also known as Maun Agyaras) is an auspicious Jain festival which falls on the 11th day of the month Magshar (Magshar Sud 11). According to the English calendar, this year it falls on the 30th November, 2017. A person who worships this day of Ekadashi with all the rites and rituals every year for a period of 11 years and 11 months is said to achieve salvation. Rachna Shah is an undergraduate student at Dartmouth College as well as the Director of Publications for the Young Jains of America (YJA) for the 2017-2018 year. As Director of Publications, she directs and produces "Young Minds", YJA's quarterly publication that provides a platform for Jains from across the country to share and learn from each others' perspectives.
