Congratulations to Jain Community of Auckland for performing BhoomiPujan for its upcoming temple. This will be first Jain temple in Auckland.
The funds raised by various sub Committee for Floods and Hurricane are being used in right way and soon we will share the details of same.

JAINA DELEGATION AT CAPITOL HILL ON DIWALI 2017 | |  JAINA Delegation led by President Gunvant Shah visited Capitol Hill on November, 2017 for Diwali Lamp Lightning ceremony. The day culminated with Diwali celebration at the famed Kennedy Caucus Room in the Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hilljoined by other organizations. The Ambassador of India to the United States, the Honorable NavtejSarna, and 31 members of Congress including Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans, Congresswoman TulsiGabbard (HI-2) all braved a cold and rainy evening to celebrate Diwali and the Indian New Year by lighting the ceremonial divas and interacting with over 250 guests and dignitaries.Mr. Raj Shah, Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States, provided the final remarks of the evening and congratulated the Indian American community for celebrating Diwali with such energy. JAINA was well represented by Haresh Shah (Secretary), Dr. Sushil Jain (Past President), Heta Shah (Mid East Reg. VP) Jigar Shah (JAINA Director), Mahavir Jain (JAINA Director), Deepak Nagda, Kamlesh Shah, Sharad Doshi and few more members. FIRST JAIN TEMPLE IN AUCKLAND,NEW ZEALAND
| |  Here’s good news, the Jain community in Auckland is all set to get its first Jain temple soon.The first step toward this cherished goal was taken on Saturday, October 21 by performing Bhumi Pujan and Snatra Maha Puja, which was followed by cultural events. | | | 5. | | | | | | 6. SHRI MANI MUNIJI SAFELY REACHED INDIA | |  Shri Mani Munijjifrom Kolkata fell sick after his visit to JAINA Convention in New Jersey. He was found unconscious in a motel room due to pneumonia and diabetes and was in comma for 11 days in Hospital. He was hospitalized for 51 days. Mr. Dilip Shah from JAINA helped him for most of the days during his hospitalization and recovery. JAINA helped with medical transportation for Shri Mani Muniji from hospital to airport and airport to India. Presently Mani Muniji has safely reached his Upasharay in Kolkata. STORY #24: WAGHAN POL,THE TIGER GATE | |  This third Gate is called Waghan Pol. Can you guess where it got its name Waghan means tigress in Gujarati. To the right of the gate is carving of a tigress, which is how this gate got its name. Two brothers, Vastupal and Tejpal, built this gate approximately 800 years ago in the memory of a brave man, Veer Vikram Singh. It is said that a tigress was killing and scaring away pilgrims coming here. Veer Vikram Singh fought courageously and killed the tigress but he gave up his own life to protect the pilgrims. These two brothers used their tremendous wealth to build devotional miracles in expensive white marble with intricate carvings. These beautiful temples speak about their devotion, faith, and wisdom. They created such wonders of art, including the temples of Delwara in Mount Abu, and many in temple city of Palitana, Girnar etc. All of mankind benefit from their grand deeds and are forever indebted. KALIKUND TIRTH | | There was a famous dense forest named Kadambari full of wild and violent beasts of many species near the city named Campa. There was a very lofty mountain named as Kali in that forest of. There was a lake named Kunda in the valley of that mountain.The valley is known as Kali-Kunda by their association, but it became a holy place by the purifying lotus-feet of Lord Parsvanatha. Now long ago, there was a dwarf - a short man in certain city. King and other people laughed at him whenever and wherever they found him. That foolish man became very sad and with a desire to die. He tried to hang himself on a tree. He was stopped and told by a well-established Jain householder friend, "O blessed one! Why do you try to die in vain?" If you wish for fortune, health and pleasing personality, observe austerity and religious practices instructed by Lord Jinesvara. Saying thus, the Jain householder friend Supratistha took him to his preceptor and made him hear sermons. He caused in him pure faith in God and preceptor and ultimately made him the best of Jain householders. | | | | | 9. JAIN CENTER NEWS | |  The Palitana, Sharunjay Tirth, is the most sacred Tirth for Jains. The Shatrunjay hill has over 3000 small/big temples and 27000 idols, making it the world’s largest temple complex. Every devout Jain aspires to climb to the top of the mountain at least once in his lifetime because of its holiness. On Kartik Poonam, devotees, in very large numbers climb the hills as it opens after four months of closure during the monsoon season.  Jain Society of Houston was transformed into the sacred hills of Shatrunjay on November 4th, Kartik Poonam. Yatris walked through the Moksha dwar towards Jay Taleti and then to Babu nu derasar and other big/small temples of the tirth. They entered through the Ram Pol, Haathi Pol and into Dada no Darbar. Doli walas, phool walis and pooja passes were available to complete the jatra. Yatris ended their Jatra by eating Sev-Bhoondi and Bhel at the Bhata Ghar. Over 400 yatris did Bhav Yatra of Shatrunjay Maha Tirth!! The event was inspired by Shri Hiteshbhai Doshi. | | | | 10. YJP JAIN PROFESSIONALS 2017 NATIONAL RETREAT | |  From October 27th-29th 2017, Young Jain Professionals hosted their first National Retreat in San Jose, California.The focus of YJP 3 days retreat was to explore and discuss topics where participants could explore how they could be “Part Of A Whole”.
To facilitate this journey, YJP had leaders like Nipun Mehta, Mr. Prem Jain, Nivisha Mehta, Pravin Madhani, Shaheen Shah and Riana Shah, from the Jain community, discussing how they worked towards incorporating their passion for the greater good. Participants also had an opportunity to network with members of the Jain community through the mentor/mentee sessions. The retreat featured a fireside chat with LinkedIn’s # 1 Career Coach, Dilip Saraf, who gave professional development advice and tips on how to advance your career. In addition to professional development, the retreat included sessions to discuss trending topics of our generation like Jainism and Veganism,Gender Norms and Dynamics and Building Community Through Dance.
The YJP Retreat Planning Committee would like to sincerely thank all the volunteers from JCNC for their support and dedication to making this retreat success. This retreat could not have been a success without retreat participants! YJP truly appreciate all the love and support we have received from the community.
