EC & BOT are thankful to Sakal Sangh for their support and participation during various activities organized on Diwali Day Celebrations. Below are some of the positive highlights of the program:

• Program was started with Snatra Puja by Religious committee. It was followed by a presentation by EC/BOT
• Had 680+ RSVP and more than 850 members attended morning Diwali Celebration Event.
• HTHY (Help Temple - Help Yourself) drive raised appx $6K. We thank you all donors to help support this drive.
• A Novel Initiative by JOY Team - Live Rangoli & Bookmark making for Kids and Book Drive. JOY will continue this drive for next two study classes and will donate gently used books to underprivileged kids. 
• Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and colorful decorations. Diwali Swamivatsalya Lunch was another grand success. Thank you for your participation.
• A beautiful JSGD calendar for year 2017-18 was distributed during the event. All members, who did not get a chance to collect it in-person on Diwali Day, we have put them in the mail this week. We hope, you will find it useful and enjoy this calendar. Sincere thanks to Chiragbhai Jhaveri and EC team members to lead and coordinate these efforts. 

The Chaturmas that begins on Ashadh Chaturdashi comes to an end on the full moon day in Kartik. After this, the Jain Sadhus and Sadhvis begin their Vihaar, i.e., travel on foot. This day also is celebrated as the birthday of Kalikal Sarvagna, Acharya Bhagavant Sri Vijay Hemachandrasooriji. This is the day when Rishabh dev bhagwan’s two sons - Dravid and Varikhill achieved liberation with 100 million other muni raaj on Shatrunjay - Palitana. A pilgrimage to Shatrunjay-Palitana on this day is considered to be of great importance. Thousands of Jains go on pilgrimages on this day. More...

JOY will stop serving breakfast at 10:30 AM sharp, so please come before that time. The Jaap will commence at 11:00 AM and will run until 12:30 PM. Please be there to pray for all the souls that have passed on this day.
