Diwali is a very special time of the year. For India, the "New Year" begins. At least one billion people around the world celebrate Diwali - a new year, a new beginning. According to Acharya Shree, Diwali is a very spiritual time of the year. Diwali was the day Tirthankar Mahavir attained nirvana and his Chief Disciple, Gautam Swam attained Enlightenment. It is also the best time to do intense spiritual sadhana (practices).

When one billion people are positive, in higher thinking, and in high spirits, it helps create balance for the world. The world can often be dark, negative and full of disasters and war but when one billion people unite each year, it helps the world move towards peace.

Uniting Globally to Create Positive Energy

Acharya Shree says that Diwali is the best time to activate your mantras (special chants and sounds that create energy for healing, protection and help calm the mind). In his estimate, saying a mantra only once during the specific special times in Diwali counts as if you have recited it 10,000 times. So imagine, if you spent one-hour reciting a mantra hundreds of times, and you multiply that by 10,000, you've created tremendous positive energy for yourself. It's truly a boost for your spiritual path. Take advantage of this time.

Remember: When these mantras are recited at the specific times it will help you with spiritual prosperity and advancement on your spiritual journey.
