Avandhya Pūrva

The name of the eleventh Pūrva (canonical text of earlier lore);

it contains the description of knowledge, austerity etc.. as the means of success in attainment of emancipation, and that of remissness etc., as the means of yielding in auspicious (evil) fruition.

egādasamaṃ avaṃjhaṃ ti, vaṃjhaṃ ṇāma-ṇipphalaṃ, ṇa vaṃjhamavaṃjhaṃ, saphaletyarthaḥ savve ṇāṇatavasaṃjamajogā saphalā vaṇṇijjaṃti, appasatthā ya pamādādiyā savve asubhaphalā vaṇṇitā, ato avaṃjhaṃ.
