Apāya Vicaya

The second variety of the Dharmyadhyāna (meditation on nature of reality);

the concentration directed on the Vicaya (analysis) of the blemishes due to Rāga (attachment), Dveṣa (aversion) and the like, or the causes of the birth, annihilation etc. of the physical, mental suffering as the concentratum.

apāyā-rāgadveṣādijanyā anarthaḥ.

(Bhaga 25.605 Vr)

apāyā-vipadaḥ śārīa-mānasāni duḥkhānīti paryāyāsteṣāṃ vicayaḥ-anveṣaṇaṃ,
