Purvanchal Jain Vidya Centre Conveners workshop was organized at Kolkata at South Calcutta Terapanth Bhawan under the auspicious presence of Sadhvishri Trishla Kumari ji and fellow Sadhvis- Sadhvi Maniprabha ji, Sadhvi Punitprabha ji, Sadhvi Kalpyasha ji and Sadhvi Rashmiprabha ji, all learned disciples of Acharya Shri Mahashramanji. The program also had presence of Samani Nirdeshika Kanchan Pragya  ji and fellow samanijis. There were about 100 participants all coming from Kolkata, West Bengal, Bihar and Assam.

The program began with chanting of Namaskar Mahamantra by Sadhvi Shri Trishla Kumari  ji. Sadhvi Rashmiprabha  ji presented her thoughts through a poem. Sadhvi Punitprabha  ji asked all the lay followers to ensure that the knowledge is gained by the children and adults as well through this very important programme which began with the blessings of Ganadhipati Gurudev Sri Tulsi. Sadhvi Trishlakumari  ji, in her enlightening speech explained the basics and importance of Jain vidya citing the qualities beginning with the letters of the word ‘Jain Vidya’. It is worth mentioning here that through blessings and concise effort of Sadhvishriji followed by active working of Mahila Mandal members there was a significant increase in the Jain Vidya examinees this season all over greater Kolkata. From Shree Jain Swetamber Terapanthi Vidyalaya about 175 students applied for the examination and about 100 students actually sat for the examination.

On the occasion a documentary related with the progress of Jain Vidya examinations and its history was shown to the participants. A thoughtfully prepared conversation was present by the students of Gyanshala on the subject ‘shat  jiv Nikay’ representing the six kind of bodies such as Earth, Water, Air, Fire, Vegetables, and Traskay and their importance in protecting the environment and also citing the harms to the environment caused by people in the modern world. Sadhvishri Kalpyasha  ji, Sadhvishri Rashmiprabha  ji, Smt. Khyati Baid and Smt. Jyoti Dugar played an active role for the presentation.

Mangalacharan was done by Mahila Mandal members. Smt. Rajkumari Surana, Convener of the program welcomed all on behalf of Saman Sanskriti Sankay. Sri Bhanwar Lal Baid, President of South Kolkata Sabha welcomed all on behalf of the organizing sabha. Sri Malchand Bengani (who came all through from Birat Nagar, Nepal), departmental head of Saman Sanskriti Sankay briefed about the progress of Jain Vidya centres & examinations across the country and Nepal. Sri Nilesh Kumar Baid (who came from Chennai), Director of Saman Sanskriti Sankay presented the methodology of conducting the Jain Vidya examinations and prior preparation of students and motivational steps taken by Saman Sanskriti Sankay under the guidance of HIS Holiness Acharya Shri Mahashramanji and hundreds of his disciple Charitratmas travelling across the countries along with Samani  ji. He also thanked all the Sabhas, Mahila Mandals, and Terapanth Yuvak Parishad Branches who have devoted time for organizing the Jain Vidya examinations, training the Gyanshala students. He also thanked all the Jain Vidya centre organizers for their active role. In the next two sessions, proper training was imparted to the participants by Sadhvishri Kalpyasha  ji and Sadhvi Maniprabha  ji wherein thoughtful discussions took place amongst the participants

Sri Pramod Baid, Treasurer of Jain Vishva Bharati presided over the program and thanked everybody responsible for progress of Jain Vidya programmes and assured of active co-operation from Jain Vishva Bharati. On the occasion of SJST Sabha, Kolkata president Sri Jawari Lal Nahata and secretary Sri Sushil Kumar Jain (Choraria) were also present and they assured a financial contribution of Rs. 51,000/- for the development of Jain Vidya Program. All the guests from out of the town were honored by presentation of mementoes by the organizers. by Other important Shrawaks present in the program were Sri Tejkaran Bothra (President-North Howrah Sabha), Sri Sunil Kumar Dugar (President-TYP, Kolkata), Sri Amit Tater, Sri Padam Kumar Raijada(Working committee member of Kolkata Sabha and TPF), Dr. Babulal Binayakia, Smt. Veena Bothra, Smt. Santosh Banthia, Smt. Jatan Banthia, Smt. Khyati Baid, a number of Upashakas, many Jain Vidya Karyashala students and Mahila Mandal members.

Sri Vijay Singh Choraria, secretary of South Sabha offered vote of thanks. The Programme was convened very well by Sri Bhanwar Lal Singhi, Former General Secretary of JST Mahasabha.The programme was successful through the efforts of Mahila Mandal Members and Saman Sanskriti Sankay volunteers apart from the organizers South Kolkata Sabha.

A Sanskar Ralley was organised highlighting various moral Values and chanting the slogan ' Jai Jai Jyoticharan- Jai Jai Mahashraman'. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Pramod Baid, treasurer of Jain Vishva Bharati. Sri Ashok Malu read the Shrawak Nistha Patra.In the second session SADHVI Kalpyasha  ji presented the methodology of making Jain Vidya examinations more attractive and interesting. Smt. Pukjraj Sethia presented various elements of JAIN Geography though pictures and audio-visual. Sri Pradeep Baid, Sri Manoj Kochar and Sri Praveen Surana took active participation in the session.
