The following is EC and BOD members election report for the 2015 election concluded on 17th November, 2015 and unanimously approved by the general body on November 29, 2015.
This was primarily an, on line election.Election committee was ready with paper votes and envelopes if required. In order to ensure that all life members who are eligible to vote get intimation of this E-Voting process,the election committee, sent out a letter to the mailing addresses on file,to all eligible life members.The letter was in English, Gujarati as well as Hindi. It also had a brief bio data on each candidate. Letters which came back undelivered were personally handled by the committee who tried to reach these members and make them ready for the process.
A "meet the candidates" was organised at JCSC on October 25th.Each candidate was given two minutes to present their ideas. Their presentation was also available for everyone to view on YouTube shortly after.
The vote collection process started on 1st November after voter ids and unique codes were sent out to members on their registered email address. The election committee also pro actively helped members by contacting them in person where possible as well as organizing two days of voting in person at the JCSC on November 8th and November 15th. This allowed members who did not have easy access to a computer or were experiencing difficulty in the process, to vote confidentially in a secure environment created for this purpose.
All ballots collected, were saved in a secure encrypted data, which was not accessible to any of the election committee members or anyone else. The results were opened officially on November 21st, at JCSC with a secure password, for the first time, in front of an invited audience comprising mainly of EC, BOD and
the Candidates.A total of 1065 ballots were received back from members.This was the highest voting in the history of JCSC.
This election was truly a Jain way of elections as numerous trees were saved by going almost paperless and also we managed to save our center around $3000.
The final results are as follows which were presented to the Executive Committee and unanimously approved by general body on November 29, 2015.

We started E-Voting this year and it was very successful. We thank all life members for their cooperation in E-Voting. We specially want to thank Election Committee, Web Committee and all who helped for their hard work and brainstorming for successful election and transition from paper to electronic voting.
