Continuing the JCGB bi-annual tradition, we will observe a day of Ayambil Tapa on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 at the Jain Center in Norwood. For those who are not familiar with this special austerity, it is typically nine days of observance - Arihanta, Siddha, Acharyas, Upadhyay, Sadhu, Gnan, Darshan, Charitrya, and Tapa (Austerity). However we will observe it for at least one day. It will be a partial fast for that day. The observant will eat only one meal at the Jain Center. The only type of food that will be served are items made with grains and dried beans and the only spices that can be used are salt and black pepper.
