                                   "SIX ESSENTIALS"  (છ આવશ્યક) Shibir

Parmatma Mahavir Bhagwan with utmost compassion for all living beings, has shown the Path of Purification of the SOUL. Everyone can attain Infinite Happiness and Infinite Bliss by ending all kinds of sufferings. He laid down two sets of Paths - one for the Mendicant (Sadhu/Sadhvi) and the other for the Householder (Gruhastha).

We as Householders who want to follow that Path should, first of all, have proper & correct knowledge of that Path. Therefore, not only should we find out what the Path is, but also understand how to follow that Path. That is the way to achieve TRUE HAPPINESS & BLISS in our daily life as well as attain the ultimate GOAL.

We have arranged a 2 Day Shibir in August, 2015 (Sat/Sun-8/9) to explore, investigate, apply and ultimately imbibe in our day to day life those six essentials (Commands of Bhagwan Mahavir for us).

Please join us for an experience of Enlightenment. You will not be disappointed!!!

Location: Jain Center (Main Hall), 8072 Commonwealth Ave, Buena Park, CA 90621

Wellness Challenge: Do Some Quiet Relaxation Or Reflection

For the upcoming weekly challenge we are challenging the participants to "do some quiet relaxation or reflection.” You may have heard that a little bit of stress is actually good for you. In the just-right amount, that adrenaline rush can power you through a long day at work, boost your workouts and more. But while it feels good to conquer the day, in the end, it just simply feels better -- and is more beneficial to your health -- to relax. For more information and to participate in the challenge, click here.

Enrichment and Empowerment (EE) Program - We Need Your Input

We are excited to announce the launch of the Enrichment and Empowerment Program (EE) at the Jain Center for children and adults!  (Please see link for parent survey at the bottom.)

MISSION STATEMENT
To enrich and empower the JCSC family and create a strong sense of community at the Jain Center, by offering educational and cultural classes for children and adults.

EE GOALS
  • Offer enrichment classes such as Music, 3-D Printing, Robotics, Chess, Dance, etc. to children during non-Pathshala hours, between October thru June
  • Create a sense of community among our children as they learn and play together
  • Make Jain Center a second home for our children, similar to Chinese and Korean communities
  • Offer classes at a nominal cost so more families can take advantage of these classes (offset expense via donations)
  • Procure the “best” teachers so that parents are excited to enroll their children
  • Develop future leaders of the Jain Center of Southern California
  • Offer educational seminars/classes to adults when children are in EE classes, or attending Pathshala
  • Expand to offer more adult and youth programs for the JCSC community
We would like to roll out this program in October 2015. To formulate a successful program, we would like to get your child’s AND your input via the attached survey by August, 3, 2015. Please sit with your children as you respond to the survey so their input is considered!
