"Conquering Four Kashays" Shibir (April 26, 2015)

Overcoming Our Inner Hurdles - A Practical Approach to Religion

Our goal as a Jain is to liberate our soul from the infinite karmas - the root cause of our miseries. BUT one can only do that if we understand what causes those Karmas.

This half-day workshop is recommended to all members who are interested in knowing about "Religion" in a very practical way. The workshop will be in half Gujarati & half English.

We always have a habit of listening...but this time we will think, analyze, and make an attempt to change our day to day life by looking at 4 main root causes of suffering - 4 Kashays [Passions: Anger, Ego, Deceit, Greed].

Date: Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 10am to 12.30pm at JCSC followed by lunch.

For accurate head count for lunch, please register using this form.

Wellness Challenge - Do 10 Minutes of Breathing Exercises Every Day

For the upcoming weekly challenge we are challenging the participants to "Do 10 minutes of breathing exercises every day.” Your body is designed to release 70% of its toxins through breathing. If you are not breathing effectively, you are not properly ridding your body of its toxins i.e. other systems in your body must work overtime which could eventually lead to illness. When you exhale air from your body you release carbon dioxide that has been passed through from your bloodstream into your lungs. Carbon dioxide is a natural waste of your body's metabolism. For more information and to participate in the challenge, click here.
