Dhyan Shibir

"વચન કાયા બાંધીએમન નવિ બાંધ્યું જાય;

"Dhyan is necessary to attain 'SamyakDarshan' - (Experience of our True Self - The First Awakening - 4th Gunasthanak) Dhyan is also at the root of attaining 'Kevalgnyan', the penultimate stage to 'Moksh'"

"Bhagwan Shri Mahavir Swami attained 'Kevalgnyan' after 4515 days of intense and deep meditation (Dharm Dhyan) which culminated into 'Shukla Dhyan'. So, when HE is talking about 'Dhyan' in his 'Deshana' (Scriptures), HE is doing so after successfully practicing 'Dhyan'. HE therefore is giving us scientifically (which requires Theory & Practical) proven method and at the same time, illuminating us on various aspects of the conditions of Mind & Thoughts which HE went through during Sadhana. This is the most authentic scriptural knowledge on the subject of 'Dhyan', which we fortunately have inherited from HIM through various great Sages & Acharyas.

The one-day program will try to explore as much as possible on this 'Dhyan Phenomenon'.

JCSC Wellness Challenge

Meditate for 21 Minutes Every Day Week 35

For the upcoming weekly challenge we are challenging the participants to "meditate for 21 minutes every day.”

You will notice that if you meditate every day, your stress levels will go down. If you meditate daily for a couple of months, you may not get stressed at all, or slightly stressed. Everyday meditation makes you see things differently. What seemed very important before no longer seems so. What you considered stressful in the past no longer appears so. This is because when you meditate, you understand that you well-being is more important than material things or events, so you naturally stop worrying about them. Safety Training - Sun Feb 22, 2015

JCSC EC has appointed an Evacuation Action Plan (EAP) team for safe and orderly evacuation of our patrons at time of any emergency, especially earthquake. The EAP consists of Dhiren Mehta (lead), Narendra Jain, Manisha Shah, Mita Mehta, Smriti Shah, Ramesh Parekh and Pinal Doshi.

In 2014, we conducted three evacuation drills and they were very successful.  Now we want to put together a volunteer team that can assist in implementing the evacuation in real emergency. We are asking for volunteers from each activity / area to assure safety during all possible activities at the Jain Center. Please come forward and join the volunteer team for safety of yourself and of those around you at Jain Center.

The EAP team has planned volunteer training session on Sunday, 22 Feb 2015 at 1 PM in the Cultural building in upstairs Exhibit area i.e.immediately after the Pathshala classes. The training is expected to last 2 hours. Your active support is highly needed and appreciated.

If you have not yet registered to be a safety volunteer, please send an email to
