Most of you have either heard news on TV/Radio or read in the newspaper about the calamity caused by heavy monsoon rains in the Kashmir. People have died, been injured and over half a million have become displaced and homeless. Attached are a few photos that give a small peek into the intensity of devastation caused by flooding. We all feel blessed that we have not been affected by a disaster of such intensity; to share in the pain of fellow human beings we can give monetary contribution (Anukampa daan).

JCSC has always been at the forefront to help the people stricken by disaster around the world. Our community members have consistently risen to the call of help those who have been affected by calamities regardless of the race, religion, creed, and nationality.

You all are requested to donate generously to help the people of Kashmir. Please send your donations, large or small, to JCSC.

Friday, October 10th – Sunday, October 12th

To register please click on the link below:

Glance at the Topic:
In our busy lives we thrive to achieve a lot and yet remain frustrated at the end of the day! We try to find solace at the feet of Bhagwan. To enhance this devotion an element of Bhakti, a combination of Prem-Love, Shraddha-Faith, Arpanta-Surrender becomes imperative.

There are many forms of Bhakti. Singing stavans, performing puja, doing seva are all different forms of bhakti. But true Bhakti is a strong bond which connects a true disciple to a higher SOUL. Bhakti is a foundation for all spiritual practice. It has the power to make the Bhakt (disciple) and Bhagwan ONE. Our spiritual quest is nothing but to achieve such true love, bhakti for the Bhagwan and attain everything that HE has.

So what is true Bhakti? What is the science behind it? Where are we incomplete in our Bhakti? Is the topic for this 3 day journey within!

3 Day Workshop will include:
- Interactive Q&A sessions
- SPARSH Bhakti
- And for the first time, FORGIVENESS MEDITATION – a unique way to connect within

JCSC Wellness Program - Week 17

Upcoming Challenge - Week 17

For the upcoming weekly challenge we are challenging the participants to "Drink 1 Ounce of Water for Every 2 Pounds of Your Weight.” Water is a major part of our body as it makes up about 60 percent of your body weight. Water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells, and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues. Lack of water can lead to dehydration, and even mild signs of dehydration can drain your energy and make you feel tired. It is important to remember that food provides about 20 percent of total water intake. For example, many fruits and vegetables, such as watermelon and spinach, are 90 percent or more water by weight. To participate in the challenge or to learn more about it, click here.

Save the Date: World Compassion and Vegan Day on Saturday, November 2. The week of October 27 - November 2, JCSC Wellness Program will be challenging participants to stay vegan for one full week!
