VRG's 150th Anniversary has ended on 25th Aug. (i.e. before 3 days) and 151st Anniversary has already started now. There were celebrations on 25th Aug. in India [at Mahuva (VRG's birth town) and Ahmedabad and a week before because of Acharyaji/Paryusana in Thane near Mumbai] as detailed in my email sent on 25th inst..
I want to add further News as follows:
1. In India VRG Documentary Film (by Pankaz Jain Hingarh) was also shown on Arihant TV Channel on Eve. of VRG's 150th Anniversary.
2. There were and would be programs/celebrations of VRG's 150th Anniversary (as INFORMED by email, shown here in below in Gujarati if not able to read pl. take help of Gujarati knowing person, received yesterday from Dr. Kumarpal Desai, Greatest ALL TIME VRG Books Publisher/Writer.

(2) ‘ગુજરાત સમાચાર’માં શ્રી વીરચંદ ગાંધી અંગે ઘણો વિસ્તૃત લેખ પ્રગટ કર્યો હતો. હજુ સુધી કોઈપણ સામયિક કે અખબારે આ પ્રકારનો એમના સમગ્ર જીવનને દર્શાવતો લેખ હાલમાં પ્રગટ કર્યો નથી. તમે જાણો છો તેમ ‘ગુજરાત સમાચાર’ એ ગુજરાતનું સૌથી લોકપ્રિય દૈનિક છે અને તે અમદાવાદ, વડોદરા, સુરત, રાજકોટ, ભાવનગર અને મુંબઈ એમ બધે પ્રગટ થાય છે અને ‘ગુજરાત સમાચાર’ની તમામ એડિશનમાં આ લેખ પ્રગટ થયો હતો.
(3) શ્રી મહાવીર જૈન વિદ્યાલયની મિટિંગમાં વિદ્યાલયના શતાબ્દી વર્ષ નિમિત્તે યોજેલા કાર્યક્રમમાં શ્રી વીરચંદ રાઘવજી ગાંધી વિશે પ્રવચનો યોજવામાં આવશે.
(4) અમદાવાદમાં 27મી સપ્ટેમ્બરે શાહિબાગમાં ઓસવાળ ભવનમાં પૂ. શ્રી લોકેશ મુનિની નિશ્રામાં શ્રી વીરચંદ રાઘવજી ગાંધીની જન્મજયંતિના સંદર્ભે અને તેમજ પૂ. લોકેશ મુનિના દીક્ષા દિવસે એક સભા યોજાઈ છે તેમાં મુખ્યવક્તા તરીકે શ્રી વીરચંદ ગાંધી વિશે મારે બોલવાનું છે.

Had JAINA President written 2-3 LINES as per my several REQUESTS to him to Presidents/JAINA Directors of 70 + Jain Centers in N.A. there would have been more Announcements/Programs on VRG's 150th Anniversary day to give TRIBUTES to this Great Jain who first time out side of India talked about Jain Religion to Westerners, very few of them knew that Jain Religion existed and removed mis-belief of some of them (who had heard of Jain Religion) that Jain Religion was OFF SHOT of Hindu and Budhdha Religion. Though appreciate VRG COVERAGE in last Issue of Jain Digest.

1. News from Mahuva: (VRG's Birth Home)
We are getting News that today on 25th Aug. there was grand celebration at Mahuva, VRG's birth home town under blessings and presence of P.P. Acharyashree Somachandra Surishwarji Marasaheb, Mahuva Jain Sangh, Hon'ble Mahuva Mayor, dignitaries and VRG's family/Great Grand children. Great Grand son Chandreshbhai Gandhi along with Mayor lighted lamp. VRG's Family members and invited dignitaries offered rose garland to VRG's statue at CHAWK. Early morning a music band went for Marasaheb's SAMAIYA and he along with Sangh all made their way to VRG's house where Guruji discoursed MANGLIK. "Jai Virchand Gandhi" slogans and GULAL filled atmosphere with joy and happiness. Chandreshbhai announced numerous projects related to Virchand Gandhi.
2. News from Ahmedabad:
"Dharma Jagruti Kendra (under Gujarat Yuvak Kendra)" celebrated Shri Virchand Raghavji Gandhi's (VRG's) 150th Anniversary on Aug. 25, 2014 i.e. exactly on the day of his 150th Anniversary END and 151st to start (VRG was born on Aug. 25, 1864) by inviting Dr. Pritiben N. Shah(who has written thesis on VRG, being also one of the Co-Author of book "Gandhi Before Gandhi' which resulted in drama in the same name).
"Kendra" passed RESOLUTION for submitting to Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to install VRG's statue at appropriate place in Ahmedabad i.e. 2nd such statue in VRG's Home State Gujarat after Mahuva, birth town.
I requested day before and talked this morning to pass RESOLUTION for submitting it Anandji Kalyanji Pedhi to install/erect statues each at Palitana and Sametshikharji, two very TIRTHS protected by VRG one from Poll Tax from Thakur and another from cruelty to animals by getting slaughter house removed.
3. News from Thane (near Mumbai)
Because of up coming Paryusana, celebration at Thane was performed on Aug. 17 on GOKUL ASTHAMI day actual birth day of VRG who was born on Gokul Asthami, Samvat 1920 under blessings of eased by P.P. Gachchadipati Nityanandsuriji. VRG's Great Grand son's Chandreshbhai's upcoming book 'Gandhi ki Gaatha, Gandhi ki Jubani's first look was released by P.P. Gachchadipati Nityanandsuriji
