The fourth Acharyya Sree Sree 1008 Sree Sree JITMALJI SWAMI was born in village Rohit (Marwar) on Aswin Sudi 14, Samvat 1860. His father's name was Afdanji Golechha and his mother was Kushalaji. He was initiated in Jaipur. He was a profound scholar and a great poet. With him com­posing poetry was a natural instinct as it were. While aged eleven only, he began to compose poems. His poetical com­positions come up to about 3 hundreds of thousands verses. His sastric compilations and renderings into vernacular of the most abstruse and intricate Sutras, will forever remain as a monument of his vast erudition. His renderings are in so clear, simple and illuminating language as draw forth the admiration of many learned persons. He not only tran­slated Sutras but also composed in verse many other subjects that are of daily use for the study of the Sadhus. He translated and rendered into verse the entire Bhagavati Sutra. The translation consists of about 60,000 stanzas. He also tran­slated the first Acharanga Sutra and wrote a commentary on the second Acharanga. He rendered into verse the Nisith Sutra, 28 chapters of the Uttaradhyayana Sutra and 10 chapters of the Pannawana Sutra. Besides these he wrote the following books - 'Sandeha Bisha Ousadhi', 'Kumati Bihandan Jinajnanmukha mandan', 'Bhrama Biddhwansan, Prasnottar Tattwabodh', Prasnottar Sradhasatak', 'Bhikshu Jasha Rosayan', 'Mahipal ka Ras' and 'Joyjash ka Vyakhyan'. He initiated 105 Sadhus and 224 Sadhwis and expired at the age of 78 on Bhadra Badi 12, Samvat 1938 in Jaipur.
