Mantra Diksha - The Primary Teaching Of Moral Values - Sadhvi Kanak Shri

A Mantra Diksha program was organised by Terapanth Yuvak Parishad on 12th July, 2009 at Mahasabha Bhawan, Kolkata under pious presence of Sadhvi Kanak Shri, a learned disciple of H.H. Acharya Mahapragyaji. The program began with Manglacharan by Bajranglal Daga & Surendra Kumar Choraria. The program was presided by Tulsi Kumar Dugar, Vice-president of Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad.


Sadhvi Kanaksri ji, addressing a gathering of over hundred children from various gyanshalas of greater Kolkata, threw light on utility of Mantra Diksha. She said to awake the quality and virtues, various sanskars and ceremonies are done for children. Mantra Diksha is also one to inspire young generation by Namaskar Mahamantra. It encircles the child with powerful atoms. It helps arouse pranshakti (Vital Power). The power of kindness and politeness enters in the child. Sadhvi Kankshriji said that Namaskar Mahamantra includes - spiritual knowledge of science, science of astrology, science of philosophy, science of colour and science of sound.


Sadhvi Madhulata ji, addressing the children said that importance of life increases with the development of virtues and values in life. Regular chanting of Mantras helps a child in all round development. It makes him fearless, strong, polite and brilliant.

The Chief speaker Dr. Manju Nahata enlightened the gathering of children, their parents and other lay followers with the power and utility of the great Namaskar Mahamantra. She said any body chanting this mantra can never be disobedient, cruel, undisciplined and rude in behaviour, rather his virtues are multiplied. Its regular chanting paves way for a purposeful life.

Chief guest Sri Kailash Chandra Goyal from Kalyan-Mitra Goyal family explained the children the importance of mantras and other religious practices sharing his experience and quoting moral feeble and small examples.



On Mantra Diksha, youngsters between 9 and 14 years take the vow to lead a life characterised by ethical conduct. They are offered a small book and a Mala containing 27 nods or pearls to recite Namokar Mantra.

Sri Karan Singh Nahata, president, Kolkata Sabha expressed his sense of gratitude towards Sadhvi Kanak Sri for her untiring effort in propagating the teachings of Lord Mahavira and contributions of Acharya Mahapragya to the lay-followers. He also gave information about the forthcoming programmes during the chaturmas and invited all to actively participate.

The welcome speech was given by Sri Dilip Maroti (President-Teyup, Kolkata). The programme was compered by Jaydeep Dugar (Secretary-Teyup, Kolkata). Sri Sunil Kumar Dugar (Jain), the convenor, offered vote of thanks.
