Ahimsa Yatra Initiator H.H. Acharya Mahapragya is awarded with IOJ. Ahimsa Award 2008 at House of Commons, London. 15 October is celebrated as “Ahimsa Day” at House of Commons with the aim of worldwide spreading the Jain Philosophy, Literature & culture for human welfare.The chief guest of function was U.K.'s UNICEF Head Lord Puttan. Institute Of Jainology Ahimsa Award 2008 is accepted by Samani Prasanna Pragya & Samani Rohit Pragya on behalf of Acharya Mahapragya from U.K.'s UNICEF Head Lord Puttan of Kwinsstone & institute’s representative Smt. Samardevi Choradia.
There are nearly 200 people witnessed this ceremony of honoring living Ahimsa Legend at House of Commons. Function started with the recitation of Navkar Mantra in Prakrit & English language and Non Violent verses of Aagams by Samani Prasanna Pragya & Samani Rohit Pragya. President of Institute Shri Nemu Bhai Chanderia gave the introduction of IOJ Organisation and Shri Jaysukh Mehta highlighted the life and work of Acharya Mahapragya. In the series of appreciation, various Presidents of Friends of India organizations Shri Sailesh Vora (Conservative), Beri Gardiner(Labur), and Virendra Sha (Labour democrative) etc appreciate this way of IOJ for honoring personality and accepted the importance of human welfare efforts of Acharya Mahapragya.
On this occasion, special message of H.H. Acharya Mahapragya is read by Shri Manak Choradia. In message,defining the principles of Lord Mahavira, Acharya Mahapragya said that where is attachment, there is violence. Global problem is increasing due to hoarding of essentials, unlimited production & unnecessary consumption culture. Hence steps are to be taken considering Aparigraha as the religion. We can control the poverty, exploitation, terrorism by holding control & defining limits for the unnecessary use of material.
Shri Rashmibhai Jhaveri from India has presented his paper over “Jain clues to eradicate the poverty” and gave introduction of Preksha Meditation. Jain Vishwa Bharti, London has presented “Economics of Mahavira” to all guests and partakers.
