Ladnun - JVBI Condolence Meeting In Memoriam Dr. Singhvi

As JVBI chancellor Dr. Singhvi had passed away on Saturday, 6 October 2007, all offices immediately after receiving the sad news were closed and courses for Monday cancelled, except the Sanskrit Refreshment Course sponsored by UGC (University Grants Commission). JVBI registrar Professor Bhattacharyya rushed to Delhi the same afternoon to be present at the cremation ceremony on Sunday. After this, he returned to Ladnun to be present at the university’s celebration in memoriam Dr. Singhvi on Monday morning.


All university members, vice-chancellor Dr. Samani Mangal Pragyaji, registrar Prof. Bhattacharyya, professors, lecturers, assistant professors, stuff, and students attended the celebration on Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:00. Dr. Samani Chaitanya Pragyaji, head of JVBI’s social department, kindly gave a summary in English language for HereNow4U readers:


Prof. Baccharaj Dugar in his speech mentioned that Dr. Singhvi, born in 1931 in Udaipur, an eminent jurist, writer, was holding many degrees from almost 50 universities all over the world. He also was associated with a number of big organisations of many countries and the president of many of them.


Lecturer J. P. N. Mishra pointed out that Dr. Singhvi who was not only the chancellor of JVBI, but also ambassador of India in England, used to say that everything should always be done with full devotion.


Samani Riju Pragya, head of JVB College, and Ms Pratibha Mishra, assistant professor at social work department paid her regard to Dr. Singhvi as a person who lived well.


Registrar Prof. Bhattacharyya said that Dr. Singhvi was not only academically highly respected, but also in the field of administration. He used to do hard work and never went to sleep without reading something. His timetable was very well set for every work. His life really was inspiring for everybody.


Shri Pannalalji paid his deep respect to Dr. Singhvi and assured that he will not be forgotten, although he is no more.


Vice-chancellor Dr. Samani Mangal Pragyaji said that the truth of life is that everybody comes and goes. This has happened to Dr. Singhvi. He was having multi-professionalism, high educated, and yet very humble. Whenever he met somebody, he used to give regards to all.
Jain Vishva Bharati University was always in his mind. He suggested many things to vice-chancellor for the development of JVBI. Awareness and hard effort brings success, this is the message we get from him.
Dr. Singhvi was very dedicated to H. H. Acharya Shri Tulsi and Mahaprajna. Dr. Samani Mangal Pragya expressed her feelings of spiritual development of Dr. L. M. Singhvi.


After Dr. Samani Mangal Pragyaji´s speech, the audience paid respect to Dr. Singhvi in getting up in a minute of mourn. Then all left the hall, all seminars and courses were cancelled for the whole day.
