Rampura Fool, 18.02.2006

Covering a distance of 8 km, Ahinsa Yatra was welcomed by a large gathering at Rampura Fool. The function started with a welcome song by students of Jai Tulsi Anuvrat Public School. Different Terapanth organisations and other people expressed their obligations, for His Holiness has given the chance to have him with them.

His Holiness in his sermon said, "When Swami Vevekananda was in America, he was asked why there is poverty, when your country has got very strong traditions and much knowledge. Vevekanand's reply was, that the gun is very good, but the firing man is not perfect. We have the philosophy of Ahimsa from our heritage, but as it has not been acquired in daily life, it has created many problems to us. To lead a peaceful life is necessary to develop the power of non- violence. The biggest problem of the day is violence. One of the main reason of violence is anger and the other big reason is greed. The violence in trade and industry is due to greed. To have a healthy society, there should be some limit of greed and desires.

There is no greater disease than hunger. A hungry man cannot survive longer than the one suffering from long lasting disease. There is no other disease greater than the worry, which makes a man lin and thin because the worry makes a man hollow from inside and destroys the good health and make him weak. There is no other power greater than the livelihood and no ornament greater than wisdom. Hunger and worry both increase violence. Job and wisdom both contribute to reduce violence. Training in non-violence can remove the causes of violence and enhance non-violence.

In the morning session of sermon, His Holiness was facilitated by the Shromani Akalidal and the Sikh community by Gurdwara Prabandh Committe, who said that the two days stay of His Holiness is a blessing to them. His Holiness in his sermon said that there are two types of people in this world, some are of gentle nature and some are rascals. The gentleman acquires knowledge and helps others, but the rascal also acquire knowledge, but create confusion with it. The gentleman after acquiring wealth helps others, while the rascal by getting wealth becomes egoistic. The gentleman helps others by strength.
