Swami Dharmanandji & Nirmakaji being welcomed in Berlin

When someone having a special importance for one's life comes to visit, one starts to look at the familiar surrounding with changed eyes, more from a distance. But even looking forward to this visit with those changed eyes, the circumstances could not be more perfect than this sunny, bright and warm Saturday in Berlin's first day of July 2006. The Berlin Tegel airport was reached after a 20 minutes ride from the Preksha Meditation Berlin centre, traffic was very low and even the plane was in time.

After knowing that Swami Dharmanandji and Nirmalaji had to be at the airport in London at about 6:00 am, we had decided to bring them immediately to Trupti Traudel Pandya's yoga school, which is situated in the north-east of Berlin, where as the Preksha Meditation Berlin centre is situated in the south-west. Trupti had asked for the task to prepare an Indian meal, as she is a talented cook, being specialised on Indian dishes. Another purpose was to give them lunch as soon as possible after their early departure from London. Swami Dharmanandji and Nirmalaji were happy to reach the yoga school after 45 minutes of ride and to be welcomed by Trupti.

After some rest, the first workshop started at 4:00 pm. About 11 of Trupti's students happily used the opportunity to get an introduction to Preksha Meditation by someone who knows the technique since more than 30 years and is pratising it as long. More than this, they all were very eager to know personally someone who is pratising yoga since more than 50 years, a type of person, not easily to meet in Berlin normally. As the area where the yoga school is situated is in former East-Berlin, people were happy to know that during the sessions translation into German language was available. In former East-Berlin, there were more opportunities to study Russian than English language.

Students in Deep Relaxation

All participants were very interested to get in-depth informations on the Preksha system, and like in the other cities of the tour, they highly enjoyed Deep Relaxation. This was followed by a meditation session on Perception of Breath. After the session, they all felt different than before. Some of the participants wanted to know if the peace of mind would be a result of constant practice, as they were not yet able to experience it. Swami Dharmanandji encouraged them to practice constantly, if possible.

Sunday morning, after meditation and breakfast, we all started to visit Amit Ranka. Karuna and Aparigraha were invited for tea by his mother in Gangashahar during their 2001 visit there. Nearly incredible, we lived in an 11km-distance from each other, but had to go to Gangashahar to meet in Berlin! We had left our card with his mother, and her son contacted us when we were back. All of us were happy to welcome the little boy of four weeks, but he was especially happy with Swami Dharmanandji, as the photos below will show:
