There are many definitions of good conduct.
Amongst them the definition given by Acharya Vinobha Bhave lends a new perspective.
He has his own definitions of misconduct and atrocities.
According to him, misconduct is nothing but the impurity in a person while atrocity is evidence of his foolishness.
The middle path between the two is the path of good conduct:

Anacharastu maalinyam athyacharastu muurkhata Dwayormadhye sadacharaha.

The middle path is the one that saves one from the two extremes.
It seems to be the path of practicality.
